The Sky on July 3rd at 10:52 PM from the Seattle Area

There is an event taking place on July 3rd ... The spacecraft Deep Impact will intentionally collide with Comet Tempel 1 ... The purpose is to gather data about comets.

It will be visible with good binoculars (50-60mm) or a telescope (4-8 inches) the larger the better ...

Time of impact: July 3rd at approx 10:52 PM PDT +/- 3 minutes in the constellation Virgo which will be in the lower Southwest sky (RA: 13h 38 min, dec: -09 degrees 35 min).

Look in the area where Spica (9) is located.
